Video Game Console to the Big Screen - Games that were made into Movies

When i think about games that were made into movies, nostalgia really starts to kick in.    As a former gamer, it’s great to see my favorite titles hit the big screen.    Now, with all the killer graphics and 3D special effects, games that turn into movies be so much better.    As for the earlier movies of this genre, some have been good and some have been really bad.    Below are a list of them and how they turned out:

 

 

 

RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE -  This movie was awesome!!    It had a great story, script, and special effects.   The main character, actress Milla Jovovich, looked smokin hot and really kicked some ass.    This turned out two sequels, which i call the slow sinking ship.   It finally sunk when they decided that the main character, Alice,  was going to have special telekinetic powers.   This was a horrible idea which didn’t fit in with the story and made no sense.    This script should have been reserved for X-Files, not Resident Evil 3.

FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN -  This was horrible!!!!   They took a generic sci-fi script, and a bunch of high named actors in it, and called it Final Fantasy.    Everyone was so dissappointed when this came out.    It should have been called “The Spirits Within”, and nothing more.    It had nothing to do with the game other than the title.   They made up for it in Final Fantasy: Advent Children.

 DOOM - Here’s another bad one.    It had the Rock in it, and a weak story.    It definitely didn’t have enough monsters in it.    They should have spent more time with the monsters, story, and graphics and less time with promoting the sex appeal.   If you called this, “Rock Kicks Some Ass, and There’s a Hot Blonde”    It might be a more fitting title to describe the movie.

TOMB RAIDER - This one was pretty good, but not too spectacular.    Jolie looked really hot, but I just couldn’t get over that fake english accent.    I just dulled it out as best as I could by looking at her, the killer fighting scenes, and all the cool special effects.    

MORTAL KOMBAT - This got really bad reviews, but it wasn’t so bad.    I wish they would have increased the fatalites just for fun.   I wanted to see Scorpon pull his face off and burn someone to death, but the only death that came out of this movie is the chance of it ever having a sequel.    They should have made it more like Bloodsport, and concentrated on the fighting, which is why we all liked mortal kombat in the first place.   FATALITY!!!!
