Free Internet Cable TV - Save Money and Ditch Your Cable Company
July 18, 2008
Tired of paying into the monopoly? Well if you don’t mind not having the ability to flip around, then say hello to saving $40-$100 dollars a month. So you have access to 100 plus channels. Who cares?? How many of them do you actually watch. Like your sitting home saying “I can’t wait to see that new show on the WE channel!” If you live in the United States, most of the time you’re going to be watching the major networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX. GUESS WHAT, THEY ALL HAVE THEIR SHOWS AVAILABLE ONLINE FOR FREE. You have to wait untill the day after it airs to watch it, but there’s only one commercial per break. For sports, you can just zip down to the local sports bar, or go over to your friend’s or relative’s house. While you’re there, feel free to brag about how you don’t pay for cable anymore. TV/Cable via the internet should be the new wave of the future with the coming of Web 2.0. You can access and watch TV shows now because not many people are doing it. But if millions of people started watching the shows , it would be a huge strain on the network. The Comcox Warner monopoly, as i like to call it, will most certainly block any attempt to have internet TV/cable, so you have to pay two bills. Right now there is basically no competition and they are getting away with it. They are slowly raising prices, and there’s nothing consumers can do. Comcast, along with Bank of America, is an evil greedy corporation. Faced with the loss of revenue, they would lobby, buy out, or block any attempt for you to not use their cable service. I picture these guys in boardroom meetings with pie charts that show the amount that consumers aren’t spending, devilishly devising more ways to get a bigger piece of the pie. On a lighter note, here’s some more places that have free shows:
Joost.com - you have to download the player, but it has a lot of old tv shows like Married with Children, the original Transformers, and V - The Final Battle (yep the one with the lizards that eat live mice).
Scifi.com - Battlestar Galactica!!! Only problem though is that they are pretty slow in posting the shows. New shows sometimes get posted a week later. Eureka and Ghost hunters are on there too, but I don’t care too much for them.
CWTV.com - The new version of Beverly Hills 90210 will be posted here this fall. Warning guys, this is a chick station. It’s has a couple of family drama shows available already. I’d go back and check which one’s but i don’t want to lose any more of my manliness, and have myself subjected to that site again.
MTV.com - Full episodes of reality TV shows like my favorite “Pimp My Ride”. Help me Xzibit!! I want a 15k upgrade for my car!!
That’s all i can think of for now. IF you know any more, please comment!!
