Are Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson engaged is the question I’m wondering this Sunday afternoon! I’ve just read on one of the UK press sites that Kate has been spotted wearing a pretty gigantic engagement ring and a ‘friend’ has confirmed that the two have finally got their act together and gotten engaged. I’d love to believe this is true as I think they make such a cute couple but I’m waiting for an official statement before I get too excited!

Patrick Swayze Battles Pancreatic Cancer

Despite heavily denied rumours to the contrary by Patrick Swayze’s doctors in regard to recent rumours that the star only has a few weeks left to live the public is caught up in this story and I’m sure I speak on behalf of all women when I say how much we hope he makes a full recovery from the Pancreatic Cancer that he is currently battling. It has been reported that the dirty dancing star is now at home resting which is definitely right where he should be.

Patrick has starred in two of the most loved chick flicks of our time, Dirty Dancing and Ghost and has been an influential part of the entertainment industry for as long as I can remember. With some great medics on his side, and being a healthy active guy he should have a fighting chance to beat this devastating disease. After losing my own father to this type of cancer last year I know only too well how quickly it can take a hold of you and how hard it is to spot the signs of. My thoughts go out to Patrick and his family at this hard time and I genuinely hope he can beat this disease and carry on with his current projects. After recently appearing here in UK theatres as Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls alongside British actress Claire Sweeney we have had a taste of just how versatile he can be and hope to see him turn his hand to more projects in the not too distant future.

Britney Spears Finally Hospitalized

Its been a long time coming but finally Britney is in hospital where she belongs. After a string of bizarre events and crazy behaviour the star has been committed to UCLA Medical Centre’s psych ward. Britney’s parents Jamie & Lynne Spears went to court a few days ago and managed to get legal control of their daughter’s treatment, I believe that this also entitles them to take control of her finances which may be a good thing given the state she’s in at the moment!Osama Lutfi one of the many weirdo’s who have been hanging around with Spears has now has a restraining order slapped on his ass after Jamie and Lynne took legal action against him preventing him getting anywhere near Britney. This surely must also be a good thing mustn’t it? She hasn’t exactly been the best judge of character recently and it seems like all of the people she ‘picks’ to hang out with are trying to manipulate and prey on her fragile state of mind. Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead

I am still in shock from yesterday evenings tragic news that aussie actor Heath Ledger was found dead last night in his apartment.

Apparently he was naked and surrounded by pills. His masseuse knocked on the door and after no reply they were let in by the housekeeper. Heath had recently spoken of how he had been left tormeted and sleepless after playing the role of ‘The Joker’ in the new Batman movie. He had also recently split from wife Michelle Williams (Dawsons Creek) and the couple have a young daughter together called Matilda.

As yet it is not clear if this was suicide or a tragic accident but my thoughts are with Heaths family, Michelle and their daughter Matilda at this hard time.

I hope we find out exactly what happened soon. Please feel free to leave your comments or tributes to Heath here, as I’m sure some of you are just as shocked as me this morning.

The Best and Worst of this weeks Celebrity Gossip Including Britney Spears Lily Allen and Gossip Girl

There’s always loads of bizarre happenings in the wonderful world of celebrities so I thought it was about time I did a bit of a round up of the most talked about this past week.

Britney Spears is never out of the headlines, so its not surprise that she has once again dominated them with reports of her fleeing the country, missing her court hearing and being carted off in an ambulance looking confused, distressed and disorientated (a look which she seems to have perfected) I’m not going to waste much time talking about her right now though as I can only keep saying the same thing over and over. Sort yourself out Brit!! It’s gone on way too long now.

Sad news came this week for British singer Lily Allen and her boyfriend Ed Simons when they suffered a miscarriage shortly after returning from a romantic holiday. The usually rowdy and party loving pop star had previously stated how she could not wait for motherhood and toned down her lifestyle in preparation for what lay ahead. The couple were obviously both distraught and in shock this week and have asked press to respect their privacy at this hard time. My thoughts go out to Lily and her family; I hope she gets the support she needs to get through this.

As ‘Gossip Girl’ is one of my favourite shows on TV at the moment how could I go without mentioning a piece on Blake Lively who plays Serena on the show?! She recently confessed how difficult she sometimes finds the media attention she gets and said “Everybody always tries to dig into your personal life or create things that aren’t there. . . It’s silly.  Any male friend is obviously a ‘romance alert’ [for the media], but I’ve always been friends with boys my whole life.” She is constantly linked to co star Penn Badgley but the two are just friends. If you get chance to check out Gossip Girl it’s well worth a look and maybe I’ll do a little piece on it next week.

Tom Cruise has been in the media’s firing line this week after a few videos of him heavily promoting his religion scientology were leaked onto various sites. If you didn’t catch them for yourself on youtube or elsewhere (I believe they have now been removed) Tom was featured talking openly about his views on the religion and often laughing manically at his own little ‘in jokes’ which all just seemed a little bit too freaky for my liking. Its one thing to have a religion and believe in it, but shoving it down other people’s throats is another ballgame. Katie Holmes looks good right now though, it’s a shame she is taking a few too many style tips from Victoria Beckham but hopefully she’s come into her own soon. Suri just seems to get cuter with every photo I see of her and I must admit they do all look like one big happy family when you see them out together; I’d love to be a fly on the wall behind closed doors sometimes though.

This Week’s Best and Worst Britney Spear’s Gossip

Sick as we all are of hearing about Britney, you cant help but read the stuff that’s getting printed all over the media. I used to have sympathy for her when this whole saga began but now truly believe she is acting selfishly and needs to regain control of her life for the sake of her kids. She seems to revel in the media attention she is gaining and after her absolutely awful comeback attempt at the MTV awards recently I’m beginning to doubt if she can ever truly have a successful career again.  I hope she does, as she was great when she was at the prime of her career but I can’t see it happening any time soon unless she checks herself in somewhere pretty quick.

Here’s what Brit’s been up to recently in her week from hell for those who haven’t been paying attention!

Britney’s ex bodyguard Tony Barretto went on the Today show and discussed her drug use that he had witnessed first hand. He also told several national newspapers that he feared that Britney was ‘Out of control and needs help’. Matters got even worse when Britney was charged with hit and run and the press later went on to report that she doesn’t actually even have a valid driving licence for California, how true that is I have no idea!

Upon returning to LA from Atlanta she popped into a sandwich shop and used the bathroom, this resulted in some rather unflattering shots of her entering the room, I think the press seriously have competitions running on who can get the worst snap of her cos there are so many god damn awful ones lately most of which feature a close up on her badly fitted hair extensions, my god you would think with all her money she could afford to get some decent ones?

I have also recently seen pics of her and the two children out and about and I find it really disturbing how in every single picture I’ve seen they are either crying, shouting or looking sad. I know kids will be kids and they aren’t little bundles of joy all the time but you would think that there would be one shot out there with one of them looking happy to be with their mom.

We can but wait to see what her next move is I guess! More info next week…

Britney Spears Lame Comeback Appearance at the MTV Awards

Britney Spears performance at this years MTV music video awards will undoubtedly be the talk of the town today, but maybe not quite for the reasons she had initially been hoping.

The VMA’s were supposed to be Brit’s big comeback, the performance that catapulted her back into the limelight for her singing rather than her personal life. We were promised she would wow us, that she had great new material and that Britney was totally ready for this show. Hmmm…

In reality what we were actually treated to was a bedraggled looking Britney Spears in some kind of awful black sparkly lingerie set with black high heeled boots. I THINK it was supposed to look ‘Sexy’ but I’m not quite sure. Her hair looked greasy and unwashed and she showed zero emotion or stage presence and appeared to be putting no effort into her dance moves which just ended up looking like a sluggish uncoordinated mess. Seriously, check out the video below and tell me if those moves were the efforts of a star who was desperate to impress the public and fans who have been supporting her or of someone who looked like they would just rather be sat at home watching the show on TV?

Perez Hilton has posted an open letter to Britney Spears on his website which you can read HERE However be warned it does contain rather a lot of bad language and Perez definitely doesn’t hold back on what he thinks!
I know that Britney was offended by Sarah Silverman’s harsh comments about her children, calling them “the most adorable mistakes you’ll ever see.” And yes, I can definitely see why she would have been annoyed about this, I also think the comment was completely out of line, there was no need at all for Britney’s kids to be turned into a cheap gag to get a laugh but Britney should have taken this on as extra motivation and thought “You know what, I’m going to go out there and show people I CAN still wow a crowd” instead she took the easy way out and decided to just amble onto the stage and give a half assed performance that just wasn’t up to scratch.

I feel sorry for Britney, she obviously still has issues that she needs to work through and maybe she should just wait until things settle down in her personal life before attempting a comeback. The songs are good but if she doesn’t give the performances her all then I really don’t see the point of her continuing. Let’s hope she does better next time!

Actor Owen Wilson Hospitalised After Allegedly Attempting Suicide.

If you read the newspapers, glossy magazines or gossip columns I can only assume that most of you are already aware of the rumours flying round regarding Owen Wilson’s recent hospitalisation. For those of you who have been walking around with your eyes closed or a paper bag on your head for the last few days and actually have no idea what I’m going on about keep reading and all a few vague details shall be revealed.

My fave Entertainment gossip guru Perez Hilton recently reports that TV’s Extra have managed to get their hands on the actual calls made to the emergency services when Owen Wilson was found, supposedly confirming that it was definitely called in as a suicide attempt. Everyone is speculating that the reason for his sudden descent into depression has something to do with the recent split from fellow ‘You, Me & Dupree’ actress Kate Hudson. I love Kate and I hate the fact that she seems to be getting portrayed as the ice queen in all of this.

However, on the other hand I have also heard various conflicting rumours that Owen Wilson has been on a downward spiral for a while now, indulging in wild partying and various difference substance abuse and that THIS is actually the real reason for Kate leaving him. What to believe?! Personally I’m holding fire until I see an actual statement about the full incident from Owen himself. Hmmph.

Whatever you choose to believe about this story, I do genuinely think it’s such a shame that something like this has happened and wish Owen a speedy recovery. He is one of my favourite comedy actors.

On Monday Owen issued the following statement: “I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time,” Let’s hope that the press respect his wishes and give him a few days to ‘Heal’ or detox himself or whatever he has to do to get well again. He was in the middle of filming ‘Tropic Thunder’ directed by Ben Stiller so hopefully he can pull himself together enough to resume filming again soon.

I personally just can’t get over the fact that Owen Wilson is even involved in something like this, he really is the last person I would have expected to try this kind of thing! Don’t you think? Maybe it was a cry for help, or maybe he did actually intend to end things, either way I know that there are most definitely a whole heap of better ways to solve your problems than to take such drastic and disturbing action.
