Movie Storyboards - Original Cartoon Storyboard Examples for Jathia’s Wager
November 30, 2008
I drew these to provide a pre-visualation for the each shot we’re going to be using when we shoot the short sci-film Jatahia’s Wager on December 13-14. I’m definitley not a sketch artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I hope these images can provide a decent visualation for the shots we’ll be using in the film. Any artists in our group or individuals who want to improve or ad to these, please join our meetup group, we’d love to see your contributions. Actually everyone reading this is invited to join our team. The whole concept behind Jathai’s Wager is that it’s a collaborative production where the audience can contribute to the movie making process. Read more
Mainstream Press 1 Week After Prequel Release - Jathia’s Wager Update
November 25, 2008
I have a VERY exciting announcement. Last week we released our first video clip, a prequel teaser trailer that we shot as a test to get our production team working together (http://moviepals.org/blog/open-source-sci-fi-movie-trailer-for-jathias-wager-released/). This was a just start, but I was happy enough to release it at this stage and get the project moving. I knew it would spread quickly online, but after only one week this no budget film with only released a trailer is receiving mainstream press and has been mentioned in the same articles as big budget Hollywood movies - incredible! Finishing Touches Include Cold Winds and a Warbly Voice- Audio Post Production Part 5
November 7, 2008
This is part 5 in a series of filmmaking discussions on audio post-production for the open source SciFi movie Jathai’s Wager.
I think the wind cold scene could work well, especially if it’s only added to the “before the portal scenes” or the “after portal scenes” to add even more of a “difference” and emphasis to the portal itself. If you added it to the before scenes you could potentially have it “flair” up and overlap the sound, maybe at one of the points where the dialogue cuts out anyways?? What do you think? If you added it to the second half (after they travel through the portal) that would add an even colder, darker feel to where Jathia ends up. Maybe try it on both parts and see which one works better?? Read more

its Ami here in London,
I have downloaded the file “estab-prequel-oct13.mov” but it appears to have been rendered as a mpeg1 or mpeg2… the problem is that these formats “multiplex” the video and audio, in such a way that i am unable to extract the audio as a separate file. Read more

Thanks for the email. I watched it and am working on your specs. I think the best way to go about this will be to give you a few different files that you (or Ami at your direction ) can mix together so if they are in fact happening at the wrong times it can more easily be changed. Your notes are clear and I will work in it today.
